Getting Lost is Fun

I am an expert in getting lost.

It really doesn't matter if  I have a fully functional GPS or the fact that I am highly educared which means I can read sign posts.

I still get lost.

Most of the time it was due to my own stupidity and the fact that my brain often wander to some la-la-land.

It used to freak the heck out of me. I used to HATE getting lost. I will frantically make all the preparation to make sure that I am NOT lost.

Until a friend of mine put it in another perspective:

You are not lost, you are just taking the scenic route.

Scenic route is sort of a tourist-y route-you take it when you are on holiday because you are not rushed by deadlines (except if you are travelling with under five-year-old or a very whiny adults).

When I look back, the greatest cafes, bookshops and coffees that I ever tasted was mostly a result of being lost. When I take a scenic route, it means that I am opening up my eyes and sense and taking every information in.

A tiny cafe that I found on a small town somewhere near Coffs Harbour - Australia

Such the opposite of doing your mechanical-robotic-going to work drive!

When you do have time, try getting lost. Go to uncharted waters and deserts or something. Then and only then you will feel like you are taking everything in. Like you are actually breathing. Allow yourself to be awed by the surprises along the road!

Get lost sweetheart! It's fun!

  1. every time I got lost, it means in a couple week or month I will go back to that area. And it that moment, I (probably) will not lost for the second time hahahaha

when we are lost = new adventure!
